We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Do you think that we are all on a spiritual journey? And maybe for 'spiritual' we could substitute 'life journey'? 'Spiritual' isn't confined to special people who go to church and pray. We are all human and therefore all spiritual.

I overheard a woman in the swimming pool the other week musing to her neighbour as they chatted whilst doing the breaststroke up and down, ‘Well, you’re born and then you die, but it’s what you do in between that matters.'

Sounds simple, but I think she’s right.

We all have a spark inside us that makes us human. That makes us reach out for connection, for meaning, for a sense of something or someone else. Some call this God. Others may call it their Higher Power or their Muse.

This could be defined as our spiritual journey.

Like everyone, I have had many twists and turns on my spiritual journey. I’ve been lost on the backstreets many times, but somehow always found a way to move forward, even if it’s taken years.

These are some writings about my own spiritual journey.

How would you describe yours?
